My journey into counselling has involved studying medicine, then working as a junior doctor in various hospital specialties, hospices, A&E and general practice. Here, I had the privilege of connecting with people facing significant challenges and vulnerability. I hung up my stethoscope to care for my own children and as they grew, became increasingly involved in pastoral care, alongside my husband who was a pastor. I studied with Biblical Counselling UK (BCUK) completing their 3 year certificate course which equipped me further.

I have been offering pastoral counselling independently since 2022 to adults and young people. A growing awareness of the difficulties experienced by young people today and the lack of Christian counselling available to them coupled with a desire to gain more wisdom and skill in this area lead me to train as a child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellor. I have completed a 3 year PG diploma with the University of Cambridge which included child counselling placements in schools and hospital. It was an integrative and relational course which has equipped me to use play and the arts therapeutically.

I now work in various settings. I offer clinically-informed Biblical counselling to adults and young people in-person and online, I work psychotherapeutically with young people in school/charity settings and I am a tutor and grader for BCUK.
