My journey into pastoral counselling has involved studying medicine, working as a junior doctor in different hospital specialties, hospices, A&E and general practice. I stopped practicing when I became a mother.  I became more involved in pastoral care whilst my husband was training to be a pastor, and then as a pastor’s wife in the churches we’ve been part of. I studied with Biblical Counselling UK (BCUK) completing their certificate course over 3 years, going on to work as a grader and BCUK course tutor. 

I have been offering pastoral counselling independently since 2022 to adults and young people. A growing awareness of the difficulties experienced by young people today and the lack of Christian counselling available to them coupled with a desire to gain more wisdom and skill in this area has lead me to train as a child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellor through a 3 year PG diploma offered by the University of Cambridge. I am in my final year of this course which includes child counselling placements in schools and hospital. This is an integrative and relational course which which is equipping me to use play and the arts therapeutically. 

Alongside this I am continuing to offer pastoral counselling part time, in person and online.
